If it does happen again, there'll be even more 'needy' recipients - including many from overseas - all eager and willing to spend/waste/squander, or invest in things shady. A thing called 'Tax' is there to provide for those in serious need, as it now does, along with countless charity appeals. And so if this dubious 'second helping' is to receive the all-clear... then one can only hope a vast majority will spend this gift on condoms so that future generations won't inherit similar greedy instincts - and hopefully learn to spell correctly.

Interest rates rising, so don't go out and buy a 600000 dollar house and then whinge about it, buy something cheaper like the rest of us did years ago and WORK your way up .Talk about a i want it today society If you did buy an expensive house and the rates go up a couple of percent and you cant afford it you should not have bought it in the first place .Think about it first .The last hand out we got from Kevin was 900 dollars and by the way you can now work to 67 to pay for it a disgrace ..No more hand outs from the government

I think leeches have a more honest and better social system than we do . They are easily recognised , not like the disgusting bloodsuckers in our society hiding behind some sad disguise to rip off everyone who is productive.

I think that with the interest rates increasing money is scarce in most households so I think that it would be great for the government to hand out cash before christmas

Thank god for most of these comments, go get a job, and that's right, christmas is about family and friends, not government hand outs to spend on stupid crap like plasmas. People need to live within their means, stop living off credit, take responsibility for your actions. Yeah, we do it tough at times, but i've never had to depend on a handout, i'm 27 and i work hard for my toys.

I wish Kevin would give us more money: especially to invalid pensioners.

xmas is about giving, not receiving.in any case go and get a job,and live like the majority, and not on handouts.

Get rid of the stupid commercialization of Xmas and there wouldn't be the worry and pressure about money at this time. Let's put more value on love, relationships and caring for each other and the planet and less on consumerism.

yes we should receive a bit to make Christmas a bit more happier times prices are rising wages are staying the same and when we do get a pay rise it gets taken away for petrol very sad.

Why not a lot of people who are on disability or aged pensions have paid plenty of taxes over the years we should get some back.

Working in an Emergency Assistance office I am amazed at the number of working people now seeking assistance as well as the homeless and those on centrelink payments. This financial crisis has affected everyone in one way or another and any extra money would help those who need it. With the cost of living increasing so does the burden of resourcing extra cash to survive. Many are held to ransom by greedy landlords who increase the rent yearly knowing that if tenants can't afford to pay it someone else will, increase of in utilities bills and food leaves many robbing Peter each week to pay Paul.........

I think too much spending is what has caused peoples financial problems. People need to learn how to live within their means - not from handout to handout

With everything being more expensive and middle income earners wages pretty much staying the same. It is a struggle! and it would help make Christmas time alot easier.

Any handout that we might get the Government will get back in some way & we will probably end up paying back more than we get given.
